I fucked up on my first analogy, but try try again.

There is a fabulous art museum! )

Does that make more sense?

For the record... )

And I really mean it.

So I tried to make an analogy about the warnings issue, and I guess I fucked it up royally because it got completely misunderstood. My error was comparing one set disabilities and accommodations with another. You can't explain something people don't understand with something else people don't understand. I apologize for that. People tend to use things they are familiar with when making an analogy, so my analogies often involve disability, because that's the way I roll.

Well, actually, that's the way I limp.

Ha! See - we make jokes! We have a sense of humour! We're just like you! Look out, it might be catching.

Anyway,
Here is the detailed, step-by=-step explanation of the original analogy, for anyone who is interested )

And here is my new, improved, simpler analogy, that uses ART instead of disability, and should make more sense.

Trigger rant.

The latest controversy in fanfic land appears to be about warnings. People who are in danger of being triggered by fic involving abuse/noncon/rape/violence/death are saying that warnings should be posted for the type of fic that might contain triggers. I agree.

And... oh, how predictable fandom is... )
